Double Major/Minor

These opportunities enable successful undergraduate students to receive a second undergraduate diploma or become knowledgeable in another department they are interested in on the condition that they meet certain criteria. 

Students who complete a Double Major are given another diploma while the ones who complete a Minor are given a certificate. 

Double Major / Minor procedures are carried out according to the “Regulations on the Principles of Transfer between and Double Major and Minor in Associate’s Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programmes and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer” which was published in the Official Gazette on 24 April 2010, and “Beykent University Double Major / Minor Directive”. 

Those who would like to do a Double Major or a Minor in the departments whose medium of instruction is English must pass the language proficiency exam (BULET), or prove that they have passed another national or international language proficiency exam deemed equivalent by the respective authorities of Beykent University. 

If International Students wish to do a Double Major or a Minor in the Departments whose medium of instruction is Turkish, they must prove their proficiency in Turkish.

Double Major Application Conditions

  1. Students are required to be at the beginning of their 3rd semester at the earliest and the 5th semester at the latest to apply for a Double Major,
  2. Students must have at least a GPA of 3.50/4.00 and be among the top 20% of the students in terms of success rate,
  3. Students must pass all the courses in the curriculum before they apply,
  4. Application must be deemed suitable by the related Department and approved by the Administrative Board.

Minor Application Conditions

  1. Students are required to be at the beginning of their 3rd semester at the earliest and the 6th semester at the latest to apply for a Minor,
  2. Students must have at least a GPA of 3.00/4.00 before they apply,
  3. Students must pass all the courses in the curriculum before they apply,
  4. Application must be deemed suitable by the related Department and approved by the Administrative Board.
